River Parishes Community College (RPCC) recently honored twelve exemplary adult education students during an induction ceremony for the National Adult Education Honor Society at the college’s Reserve Campus. This event highlighted the achievements of learners who have demonstrated exceptional qualities contributing to both their academic success and the success of their peers.
The National Adult Education Honor Society was established to recognize adult learners who excel in their studies while embodying qualities such as outstanding attendance, strong work ethic, and leadership within the Adult Education program. The students honored during the Fall 2025 induction included Kathryn Barney, McKinzie Brisco, Jerome Cazaubon, Denise Chopin-Turner, Ivana Coleman, Lynette Lane, Lexxton Abel, Yulanda Montgomery, Nadia Ryan, Quincey Seamster, Ashley Solomon, and Marna Wilson.
During the ceremony, Sarina Lirette, the RPCC Adult Education Director, remarked, “These students embody the perseverance, dedication, and determination that define the heart of Adult Education. Their achievements reflect the strength of our community and the transformative power of lifelong learning.”
RPCC’s Adult Education program offers a variety of free services aimed at enhancing the educational opportunities for adults. These services include high school equivalency preparation, English as a Second Language instruction, digital literacy training, and college and career readiness support. By providing these essential resources, the program seeks to empower individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals.
The induction of these twelve students serves as a testament to the impact of adult education in the community. Celebrating their accomplishments not only honors their hard work but also inspires others to pursue their educational journeys. The recognition from the National Adult Education Honor Society further emphasizes the importance of fostering an environment where adult learners can thrive and succeed.
As RPCC continues to support adult education, the college remains committed to providing opportunities that promote academic growth and lifelong learning. The achievements of the Fall 2025 inductees highlight the potential of adult learners to positively influence their lives and communities through education.
