The much-anticipated Nobles County Fair officially begins on August 4, 2024, in Worthington, Minnesota, marking a week filled with diverse events and community activities. Located along Stower Drive, the fair promises engaging experiences for attendees of all ages, from livestock shows to live music.
Event Highlights Throughout the Week
The fair kicks off with a variety of activities starting Monday, including the Southwest Minnesota 4-H Dog Show at 8 a.m. in the hockey arena, followed by open class entries from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on August 4. The excitement continues on Tuesday, with livestock interviews and 4-H project judging throughout the morning.
Wednesday marks the official opening day, featuring a packed schedule that includes livestock check-ins, the opening of the commercial building, and the 4-H Poultry Show at 1 p.m. in the Olson Arena. The day also introduces the Beer Garden, opening at 4 p.m., and a community burger feed followed by a bean bag tournament. The 4-H Sheep Show and the MK5K Run & Family Walk are set to take place at 6:30 p.m., culminating in the thrilling Sprint Car Races at 7:30 p.m.
Family-Friendly Activities and Entertainment
As the fair progresses, various activities are scheduled through the weekend. Thursday, August 7, features the 4-H Beef Show and the Back 40 Boys Concert. The carnival midway opens at 4 p.m., providing entertainment for families, while the Nebraska Bush Pullers Tractor Pull takes center stage at 7 p.m.
Friday sees the return of livestock shows with the 4-H Swine Show at 8 a.m., followed by the 4-H Goat Show at 1 p.m. The evening features a tractor pull and a concert by the Mason-Dixon Line starting at 8 p.m.
Saturday promises excitement with the Tri-State Beef Show, opening of the carnival midway at 1 p.m., and thrilling races in the grandstand at 7 p.m. The day concludes with a concert by the Jeremy DeWall Band at 9 p.m.
The fair wraps up on Sunday, August 10, starting with an inspirational service at 10 a.m. and the release of various 4-H projects in the afternoon. A Little Scrappers Pedal Pull and the final releases for open class and livestock projects will also take place, bringing a festive close to the week.
