Pokémon Go developer Niantic has announced an eagerly anticipated Community Day event for September, featuring the Fairy-type Pokémon, Flabebe. Scheduled for Sunday, September 14, 2023, the event will take place from 14:00 to 17:00 local time, offering players a unique opportunity to encounter Flabebe and its Shiny variant with increased frequency.
During the event, the specific form of Flabebe will vary based on players’ geographical locations. For instance, players in North America will predominantly find the Yellow Flower variant, while those in the Asia-Pacific region can expect to see the Blue Flower form. In Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, players will encounter the Red Flower variant. Additionally, all players will have the chance to find both the Orange Flower and White Flower forms of Flabebe. Notably, Niantic has decided not to alter the regional availability of Flabebe for this event, which may disappoint some players eager to complete their collections.
The Shiny versions of Flabebe maintain subtle differences at first but become more noticeable as the Pokémon evolves. Flabebe’s body and eyes shift to a light purple hue instead of the standard green, while its flower remains unchanged. As it evolves into Floette and subsequently into Florges, the color deepens, making the transformation more apparent.
For participants looking to evolve Floette, there is an added incentive. Evolving Floette during the event and until September 21 at 22:00 local time will reward players with a Florges that knows the special Charged Attack, Chilling Water. In Trainer Battles, this attack has a power of 60 and lowers the opposing Pokémon’s attack by one stage. In Gyms and Raids, the power increases to 65, although the attack reduction effect will not apply. Niantic has also simplified the evolution requirements for this event. Players will need only seven hearts to evolve Floette, a significant decrease from the usual requirement of 20.
Additional Bonuses to Enhance Gameplay
In addition to the special features surrounding Flabebe, the September Community Day will offer several bonuses for Pokémon Go players. Participants can look forward to receiving double Candy for catches, alongside an increased chance of obtaining Candy XL for players above Level 31. Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event will last for three hours, enhancing the gameplay experience.
Moreover, players will benefit from a reduction in Egg Hatch distances, with hatching requiring only a quarter of the usual distance. From now until September 21, players can also perform more Special Trades each day, with the Stardust cost halved for all trades.
As the excitement builds for the upcoming Community Day, many players are already speculating about which Pokémon will feature in future events in October and November. Those interested in sharing their thoughts or experiences can connect with other players on various social media platforms.
The Community Day promises to be an engaging event for both new and seasoned trainers, providing a chance to catch unique forms of Flabebe while enjoying a range of bonuses designed to enhance the overall experience in Pokémon Go.
