New Set Video from Avengers: Doomsday Hints at Thor’s Return

A new video from the set of Avengers: Doomsday has emerged, offering fans a tantalizing glimpse of what may be in store for Thor in the upcoming film. Released by Bobby Holland, the stunt double for Chris Hemsworth, the footage features crew members on the set, which appears to resemble the temporal loom of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) from the Disney+ series Loki.

The TVA has been a pivotal element in both Loki and other Marvel projects, including the highly anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine crossover. Its inclusion in Doomsday aligns well with the film’s multiversal themes. Speculation suggests that Doctor Doom might utilize the TVA to navigate different multiverses within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Star-Studded Cast Takes Shape

The cast for Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of the most extensive in MCU history, even without the involvement of Howard. Confirmed actors include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal portraying Reed Richards, and Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, also known as Sue Storm. Other notable cast members include Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.

The ensemble continues to grow with names such as Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. Additionally, Simu Liu will appear as Shang-Chi, while Florence Pugh reprises her role as Yelena Belova. Other returning characters include Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Hank McCoy, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm.

Iconic Characters from the X-Men Universe

The film will also see the return of several iconic characters from the X-Men franchise, including Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. Other familiar faces include James Marsden as Cyclops and Channing Tatum as Gambit, further expanding the multiverse narrative.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and the excitement surrounding the project continues to build as more details emerge. Fans eagerly await how the convergence of these beloved characters will unfold in the latest chapter of the MCU.

As the film progresses through production, updates will likely continue to surface, keeping the Marvel community engaged and speculating about the future of their favorite heroes.
