The highly anticipated seventh installment in the “Evil Dead” franchise has announced its cast, generating excitement among fans. This film follows a series of previous entries, including the original trilogy by Sam Raimi, the 2013 remake, and the recent Evil Dead Rise from 2023. Directed by Francis Galluppi, known for “The Last Stop in Yuma County,” this untitled project promises to continue the franchise’s legacy.
Leading the cast is British actress Charlotte Hope, recognized for her roles in “The Nun” and “Catch Me a Killer.” She is joined by American actor Zach Gilford, best known for his performances in “Midnight Mass” and “Friday Night Lights.” The film also features a strong lineup of Australian talent, including Jessica McNamee (“Mortal Kombat,” “The Meg”), Josh Helman (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Thirteen Lives”), Ella Newton (“Dangerous Animals,” “Harrow”), Elizabeth Cullen (“Goolagong,” “Last King of the Cross”), and newcomer Ella Oliphant.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, Galluppi will direct from his own script, promising a fresh take on the franchise’s signature horror elements. New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures are co-financing the project, with Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi serving as producers. Bruce Campbell, a staple of the franchise, will take on an executive producer role. Warner Bros. Pictures will handle domestic distribution, while Sony will manage international releases.
The previous installment, “Evil Dead Burn,” directed by Sébastien Vaniček, was filmed in New Zealand and is set to premiere on July 24, 2024. As the franchise continues to evolve, fans eagerly await what the new film will bring to the iconic series. With an impressive cast and a dedicated production team, this latest chapter in the “Evil Dead” saga aims to deliver both thrills and chills.
