Lincoln Center has unveiled its highly anticipated schedule for the 2025-26 season, featuring a diverse array of classical vocal performances. This season promises to showcase both established and emerging artists in a series of innovative events that celebrate the power of music and community engagement.
Highlight Performances of the Season
One of the standout events will be the world premiere theatrical recital presented by countertenor Key’mon Murrah, marking his debut at Lincoln Center. This unique performance, crafted by composer James Blaszko, is set for October 23, 2025. This recital aims to push the boundaries of traditional vocal performance, offering an engaging experience for attendees.
Another key event is Jeanine Tesori, a Lincoln Center Visionary Artist, leading “Come & Sing” on October 26, 2025. This participatory community choir event, curated in collaboration with The Metropolitan Opera, invites the public to join in a shared musical experience, fostering a sense of community through song.
On November 7, 2025, Tesori will collaborate with director Tazewell Thompson, author Susan Sturm, and poet Bryonn Bain for an interactive exploration of themes related to bridging divides. The evening will feature performances from Bain’s multimedia production “Lyrics from Lockdown” and excerpts from Tesori’s acclaimed opera “Blue.” In addition, Sturm will conduct a reading and book signing, adding a literary dimension to the event.
The season continues with a presentation of Jeanine Tesori’s “Blue” on November 15, 2025, in partnership with both Lincoln Center Theater and The Metropolitan Opera. This opera has garnered critical acclaim for its poignant storytelling and musical depth.
Innovative Productions and Community Engagement
The Philip Glass Ensemble will perform “Songs from Liquid Days” on January 25, 2026, showcasing Glass’s unique blend of classical and contemporary styles. This performance promises to be a captivating experience for fans of modern classical music.
On March 20, 2026, Tesori’s “Violet” will feature a full Deaf Broadway cast performing in American Sign Language (ASL). This groundbreaking production aims to increase accessibility in the performing arts and celebrate the talents of Deaf artists, accompanied by the original Broadway cast album.
Additionally, the ongoing Cast Album Project (CAP), spearheaded by notable artists Jeanine Tesori, Anne Kauffman, and Teneisha Duggan, will take place on April 5 and 6, 2026. This project focuses on reviving culturally significant musicals by historically marginalized artists, producing live-session recordings to introduce these works to new audiences.
