Kim Kardashian has opened up about her tumultuous marriage to Kanye West, revealing the extreme behavior he exhibited during mental health episodes. In a candid discussion on the October 15 episode of Call Her Daddy, Kardashian shared how West’s struggles affected their family dynamics and her sense of security.
During their time together, West displayed unpredictable actions, including giving away luxury vehicles. Kardashian recounted instances where they owned several Lamborghinis. Upon returning home, she often discovered that they had all been given away to friends. “I would come home, and we had like five Lamborghinis, and I’d come home and they’d all be gone if he was in an episode,” she explained. “And I’d be like, ‘Oh, wait. Where’s all our cars? Like, my new car?’ And it would be like, oh, he gave them away to all of his friends.”
These moments contributed to Kardashian feeling emotionally and financially unsafe. She described the constant uncertainty as a source of distress: “I didn’t know what you’re gonna get when you wake up, and that’s like a really unsettling feeling.”
Kardashian finalized her divorce from West in November 2022, three years after initially filing in early 2021. She noted that making the decision to leave was one of the hardest choices of her life but ultimately necessary for her well-being. “Once my mental health starts to get affected, and then I can’t parent the way that I need to and I can’t be present and focused, then there’s gotta be one of us that can,” she stated.
The couple has four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. Kardashian expressed hope that her children will understand her decision as they grow older. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing her mental health to be the best parent possible.
As the conversation unfolded, it became clear that Kardashian’s experiences reflect broader issues surrounding mental health and its impact on relationships. Her revelations highlight the complexities many face when navigating personal struggles while trying to maintain family stability.
