Kids Craft Their Own Yetis at Arlington Museum Storytime

Children and parents are invited to embark on a creative journey at the Arlington Museum of Art (AMA) with the latest installment of Storytime, titled “Create Your Own Yeti.” Scheduled for every other Wednesday, this engaging event allows young participants to explore the enchanting world of winter and the legendary yeti through storytelling and hands-on crafting.

Held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon, Storytime kicks off with a theatrical reading of a winter-themed book, delivered by a community member or a librarian from the Arlington Public Library. The storytelling session often includes a delightful puppet show, captivating the children’s attention and sparking their imaginations. Following the reading, children will have the opportunity to create their own **snowy yeti** art piece, transforming their listening skills into tactile creativity.

Storytime at the AMA is designed to foster a love for reading and art among children, while also providing a social environment for them to connect with peers. The events take place in various locations within the museum, including the Community Gallery, Traditional Gallery, or Boardroom. Upon arrival, families are advised to check in at the front desk.

Admission and parking are free, though pre-registration is required. Participants must register in advance to secure their spots, as walk-ins are not permitted. Upon registering, attendees will receive an email notification, which should be presented to the parking attendant upon arrival.

The Arlington Museum of Art is located at 1200 Ballpark Way, Arlington, TX 76011. This initiative not only promotes literacy and creativity but also strengthens community ties. Parents are reminded that children must be accompanied by an adult guardian during the event.

With its interactive blend of storytelling and art, Storytime presents an excellent opportunity for families to enjoy quality time together while nurturing children’s artistic skills. Pre-registration for the upcoming Storytime event is essential, and families are encouraged to secure their spots early to avoid disappointment.
