Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that they are actively developing the next update for Helldivers 2, which is expected to include nerfs for the newly introduced enemy, the Dragonroach. Players have expressed significant frustration regarding this enemy since its debut in the recent expansion, Into the Unjust. The announcement comes after a week without a patch, leaving the community eager for improvements and balance adjustments.
The last update, labeled 01.004.001, was released ahead of schedule, which initially brought relief to players. However, ongoing performance issues and balance challenges have led to mounting concerns. According to Baskinator, the community manager for Arrowhead, the lack of a patch this week was due to the team moving the contents of the patch forward to last Thursday, allowing for earlier fixes. Baskinator stated, “We’re working on the next one,” although no specific release date has been confirmed yet.
Historically, patches for Helldivers 2 are typically released on Tuesdays. This pattern suggests that the next update could potentially arrive on September 16, 2023, although this remains speculative. Baskinator reassured players that the feedback regarding the Dragonroach and other gameplay elements has been noted, saying, “We’ve passed on a lot of feedback about the draggies and warstriders especially.”
The Dragonroach has been a focal point of complaints within the community. Players have reported issues including its excessive spawn rates and its ability to eliminate characters with a single hit, creating an unbalanced gameplay experience. There is hope that the forthcoming nerfs will mirror the adjustments made to the Leviathan after its early controversies.
In addition to the expected changes to the Dragonroach, Arrowhead has updated their known issues webpage, highlighting several technical problems that need addressing. These include:
– Extraction shuttles or beacons clipping into terrain, preventing successful extractions.
– The Helldiver being reinforced onto inaccessible areas, such as roofs in Hive Worlds.
– Tracking issues with Rupture Warriors, which fail to follow moving players accurately.
– Accessibility problems with the Nuke Nursey Drill due to its placement by the ship.
While players await the next patch, Arrowhead remains dedicated to both enhancing performance, particularly on PC, and developing new content for the game. Leaked information indicates that upcoming updates may introduce new Cultists, summoned by even more new Illuminate enemies, alongside a powerful Superweapon reminiscent of the Death Star from the Star Wars franchise.
For those interested in Helldivers 2, additional resources are available including rankings for the best warbonds, stratagems, and weapons, as well as tips for returning players. The community remains engaged and hopeful for the improvements to come in the next update.
