Country Star Dylan Scott Brings Hits to Fargo’s Scheels Arena

Country singer Dylan Scott is set to perform at Scheels Arena in Fargo on Saturday night, bringing a string of hits that have resonated with fans across the United States. Since his debut in 2013 with “Makin’ This Boy Go Crazy,” Scott has steadily risen through the ranks of country music, achieving notable success with four number one singles on the US Country Airplay chart.

Scott’s journey in music has been marked by careful and deliberate releases, with only ten singles since 2015. Despite the limited output, each song has made an impact, including his chart-topping hits “My Girl” in 2016, “New Truck” in 2021, and “Can’t Have Mine (Find You a Girl)” in 2022. Other popular tracks include “Hooked,” “Nobody,” “Boys Back Home,” and “This Town’s Been Too Good to Us.” The concert starts at 19:30 with supporting acts from Josh Ross and Zach John King. Tickets are priced between $25 and $70.15.

Theatre and Opera Events in Fargo-Moorhead Area

In addition to Scott’s performance, the Fargo-Moorhead area is buzzing with cultural activities this weekend. Theatre B has partnered with North Dakota State University to present a joint season-opener featuring Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet.” Following a successful sold-out opening at NDSU, the production will move to Theatre B’s Moorhead venue. Directed by Jon Micheels Leiseth, this adaptation blends styles from the Italian Renaissance and 1940s Italy, creating a unique theatrical experience. While Friday and Sunday shows are sold out, tickets remain for Saturday, October 29, Thursday, October 30, Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1, ranging from $12 to $75.

Meanwhile, the Fargo-Moorhead Opera will open its season with a performance of “La Traviata” at the Festival Concert Hall at North Dakota State University. Soprano Sarah Tucker will reprise her role as Violetta, while tenor Hayden Smith makes his local debut as Alfredo. Performances are scheduled for 19:30 on Friday and 14:00 on Sunday, with tickets ranging from $21 to $78.75.

Classic Films and Local Music Scene

On the cinematic front, the classic 1925 silent film “The Phantom of the Opera” will be screened at the Fargo Theatre on Saturday. This special event features live music provided by the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony, under the baton of conductor Jane Linde Capistran. The film will be introduced by filmmaker and Concordia College professor Greg Carlson, and an organist will perform on the Fargo Theatre’s iconic Mighty Wurlitzer. The screening begins at 19:00, with tickets priced at $40.

For vinyl enthusiasts, the Fargo Record Fair will take place on Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00 at Brewhalla, offering a variety of classic discs and records. Admission is set at $5, making it an accessible event for music lovers.

In a celebration of local music, the Lake Agassiz Wind Symphony, alongside the Horace High School Band and Valley Winds Concert Band, will perform a concert titled “Winds United” on Saturday at Horace High School, North Dakota. The program will feature works by renowned composers such as J.S. Bach and John Philip Sousa. One highlight will be “Extra! Extra! Read All About It!”, a tribute to the late Forum writer Syb Gullickson. The concert starts at 19:30 and is free to the public.

Finally, singer Diane Miller will make a long-awaited return to The Aquarium on Saturday night after four years. Known for her hip-hop performances, Miller will be joined by fellow Fargo native Zippy Laske and local group TBA Trio. The show begins at 19:30, with tickets available for $20.

This weekend promises to be a vibrant celebration of music, theatre, and film in Fargo, offering something for everyone.
