Chagrin Falls High School’s Academy of Performing Arts presents a captivating adaptation of Anne of Green Gables this weekend from November 6 to 9, 2023. The performances will take place at the school’s Blackbox Theatre, with showtimes set for 19:00 on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. A matinee performance on Sunday at 14:00 will conclude the run of this beloved classic.
Artistic Director Dan Hendrock selected this production for its enduring popularity and educational value. “After the success of Little Women, I wanted to do another classic that would be fun and educational for the students, and Anne of Green Gables fit the bill,” Hendrock stated.
Since early September, a dedicated group of thirty-five students from Chagrin Falls have been actively engaged in the production, taking on roles in both the cast and crew. They have been working hard to create custom sets and memorize lines, embodying the spirit of the characters from Lucy Maud Montgomery‘s cherished novel.
The cast features talented performers, including Marie Cain as Anne Shirley, Claire Hoelzel as Marilla Cuthbert, Milo Quintin as Matthew Cuthbert, Margaux Verdier as Diana Barry, Westley Quintin as Gilbert Blythe, and Demiel Snyder as Rachel Lynde. Their performances promise to bring the story of Anne’s adventures and misadventures in Avonlea to life with energy and charm.
Tickets for the production are available for purchase online through the Chagrin Falls Schools website. This weekend’s performances are an opportunity for the community to support local talent and celebrate a timeless story that continues to resonate with audiences of all ages.
