Celebrities Unite for Stand Up To Cancer Fundraising Special

The entertainment world converges for a noble cause as celebrities gather in Nashville for the annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraising telecast on October 7, 2023. This special event aims to raise vital funds for cancer research while promoting awareness of the disease’s impact across communities.

In an exclusive interview, Pamela Williams, co-founder and executive producer of the telecast, emphasized the importance of the event. “The Stand Up To Cancer telecast is super important to communicate and raise awareness about cancer research,” she stated. “Everyone is affected by cancer. People may think ‘it’s such a huge problem, how can I even start to take a dent at it?’ And so I think through our telecast, you’re able to see that every dollar counts.”

This year’s lineup features an impressive array of performances from popular artists including the Jonas Brothers, Jelly Roll, Jon Pardi, Brothers Osbourne, Noah Cyrus, Marcus King, Dan + Shay, Gavin DeGraw, and CeCe Winans. The event will be hosted by Sheryl Crow, who will also take the stage to perform. Notable celebrities such as Zoe Saldaña, Reese Witherspoon, Keith Urban, Kevin Bacon, Jamie Foxx, and Tim McGraw will participate in pre-taped segments, sharing their support for the cause. Co-founder Katie Couric will also deliver remarks during the event.

For the first time, this special will be broadcast from Nashville, a city known for its rich musical heritage. Williams described the evening as “an incredible night of entertainment and edutainment,” highlighting the importance of early detection and sharing inspiring patient stories. “We’re at a critical time in cancer research. So now is the time to give and to really save lives,” she added.

The telecast will be streamed commercial-free across thirty media platforms, including all four major U.S. broadcast networks and popular streaming services such as Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. It begins at 8 p.m. ET and PT, and 7 p.m. CT, inviting viewers to engage with the mission of supporting cancer research while enjoying a night of performances and personal stories.

With the collective efforts of artists, networks, and audiences, the Stand Up To Cancer telecast aims to make a significant impact in the fight against cancer.
