Cardi B Addresses Industry Plant Rumors, Clarifies Her Journey

Cardi B, the Grammy-winning rapper, has recently addressed long-standing rumors suggesting she is an “industry plant” sent to overshadow her rival, Nicki Minaj. In an appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy, Cardi stated that her intentions have always been to achieve success on her own terms, not to dethrone anyone else.

Cardi explained, “People have made this whole story that I came in the industry to like take over somebody’s career. But it’s like, I never thought that. I just wanted to become famous at what I like to do.” This clarification comes amid a history of tension between the two artists, which has fueled speculation about their relationship and Cardi’s rise to fame.

She further elaborated on her journey, emphasizing her determination to succeed regardless of external perceptions. “This is what I was destined for,” Cardi asserted. “I was meant to become this, no matter who signed me, no matter what. I was going to be famous and I was going to be a rapper.” Before securing a record deal, she revealed that she invested her own finances into her music career, underscoring her commitment to her craft.

Cardi’s comments follow the recent release of her highly anticipated sophomore album, Am I The Drama?, which is projected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with an estimated **200,000** album-equivalent units sold in its first week. The album’s title hints at its content, which includes pointed references to various individuals with whom Cardi has had conflicts in the past.

Among those targeted are her ex-husband Offset, rapper BIA, and others. Notably, Cardi directed sharp lyrics towards JT and her partner Lil Uzi Vert, making her feelings clear in her verses. One lyric states, “All that d*ck ridin’, still ain’t get no feature-ass b*tch / She just mad she got a n***a she be sharin’ bags with.”

In response to Cardi’s lyrics, JT has taken to social media, posting a series of tweets and videos that express her discontent with the insults. This back-and-forth highlights the ongoing rivalry between the artists and the intensity of their exchanges in public forums.

As Cardi B continues to navigate her career, her latest remarks serve to clarify her motivations and aspirations. Her focus remains on her music and the pursuit of success, while the ongoing tensions with Nicki Minaj and others continue to capture the public’s attention.
