The thirteenth week of the Friday Night Blitz saw intense playoff action across the region, with several teams vying for advancement under the Friday night lights. Bluffton High School faced off against Gilbert in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs, coming into the match with an impressive 8-2 overall record for the 2025-2026 season. Despite a strong start, Bluffton ultimately fell to Gilbert, with a final score of 38-21.
Bluffton aimed to improve upon their previous year’s playoff disappointment, where they lost by a single point to May River in the first round. The Bobcats kicked off the game with a remarkable catch from Carnell Warren, setting a promising tone for their offense. However, the team struggled to maintain momentum against a formidable Gilbert squad.
In another exciting matchup, Hilton Head Island dominated South Aiken, securing a 52-24 victory in their playoff debut. Running back Javin Risher made his mark early in the game, scoring the first touchdown and helping propel the Seahawks into the second round. They will face Wilson on November 14, 2025, as they continue their quest for playoff success.
May River’s playoff journey came to an end as they concluded the season with a 7-4 record following a 36-28 loss to Wilson. Despite a valiant effort, the Sharks could not overcome Wilson’s strong offensive performance. The turning point came in the third quarter when an interception thrown by May River shifted the game’s momentum firmly in Wilson’s favor.
This week’s matches highlighted the competitiveness and determination of the participating teams, setting the stage for an exciting continuation of the playoffs. As the tournament progresses, fans will eagerly anticipate which teams will emerge victorious in the upcoming rounds.
