The McLaughlin family is mourning the loss of Diana Lynn McLaughlin, who passed away at the age of 70 on November 24, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her sons, Brad and Eric McLaughlin, announced her passing, highlighting her enduring love and commitment to family throughout her life.
A Life Rooted in Family and Faith
Diana was born as Diana Lynn McCormick, the youngest daughter of Graham and Carrie McCormick. Growing up in the picturesque mountains of West Virginia, she was surrounded by a family with deep roots as descendants of early settlers. Diana embraced the outdoors, often described as a tomboy who found joy in exploring the natural landscapes that defined her childhood.
Her academic achievements led her to attend Marshall University, where she would meet 2nd Lieutenant William McLaughlin at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The couple married on August 11, 1974, and together they raised their two sons, moving across seven states and frequently creating cherished memories during holidays at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
A Legacy of Service and Friendship
Diana’s strong faith and unwavering devotion as a mother were hallmarks of her character. After her sons grew up, she pursued her passion for interior design by founding McCormick Interiors. Alongside her professional endeavors, she dedicated her time to various organizations that supported those in need, reflecting her generous spirit.
In the last twenty years of her life, Diana resided in Williamsburg, where she provided care for her late mother, Carrie, and developed a close-knit community of friends and neighbors. Known for her infectious smile, laughter, and spirited sense of humor, Diana embraced life’s simple pleasures, including music, dancing, and sunsets.
Diana is survived by her sons, Brad McLaughlin and his wife Anna, and Eric McLaughlin. She is also remembered by her older sister, Tamara Lee, her cousin Mary Ann Bevins, three grandsons—Alex, Andrew, and Patrick—and her beloved dog, Daisy.
In accordance with her wishes, Diana will be laid to rest in her birth home of Logan, West Virginia. The family invites those who wish to honor Diana’s memory to consider donating to Dream Catchers (www.dreamcatchers.org) in lieu of flowers.
