Attack on Titan has marked its 16th anniversary with the release of new visuals and a special compilation film, captivating fans once again. The latest visual, crafted by creator Hajime Isayama, showcases a unique tea-time scene featuring characters Eren Yeager and Levi Ackerman, a moment that did not appear in the original manga. This release not only celebrates the milestone but also comes with exclusive purchase bonuses for fans.
Celebrating a Cultural Phenomenon
Since its debut in 2013, Attack on Titan has reached remarkable heights in popularity, becoming a groundbreaking series in the anime and manga landscape. After completing the third season, WIT Studio handed over the project to MAPPA, a studio famed for its high-quality animation in other hit series. The transition has further enhanced the visual appeal of the series, particularly as it approaches its conclusion.
The final season introduced a significant narrative shift, taking a four-year time skip that follows Eren’s tumultuous journey as he confronts the harsh truths of his world. Although the manga has concluded, the franchise continues to engage its audience through various new projects, including the aforementioned compilation film. This film revisits the two-part finale, offering fans a fresh perspective on the story.
Exclusive Visuals and Collectibles
As part of the anniversary celebration, Hajime Isayama has released an exclusive visual that depicts Eren and Levi enjoying tea together. This scene, which takes place after the time skip, showcases a side of their relationship that was not explored in the manga. While both characters have their individual fan bases, their interactions as a duo often go unappreciated.
“The sales department is excited about the new visuals that will be available with each purchase,” a representative stated.
The anniversary project also features a series of original illustrations by Isayama, offering fans an opportunity to select their favorite among 52 visuals. These illustrations, which include volume covers and additional artwork, will be available as full-color collectibles. Fans will also be able to create their own merchandise featuring unique serial numbers.
The comprehensive project encompasses 34 volumes of the manga, from which the selected visuals have been curated. Additionally, one of the visuals will serve as the cover for an official art book, further enriching the celebration.
As Attack on Titan continues to release new content, it solidifies its status as a cultural landmark, maintaining a strong connection with its dedicated fanbase. The combination of exclusive visuals and special film releases ensures that the series remains relevant and engaging in the ever-evolving landscape of anime and manga.
