Anson Mount Celebrates Thanksgiving as Filming Wraps on Star Trek

As filming for the acclaimed series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds approaches its conclusion, lead actor Anson Mount took a moment to share a Thanksgiving message with fans. With only the sixth and final episode left to shoot, the cast and crew are focused on completing production, which is set to wrap in December 2025.

The series, which airs on Paramount+, has already been renewed for a fifth season, following the successful debut of its third season in June 2025. Throughout the fall, the cast has been diligently working, emphasizing their commitment to the beloved franchise.

Mount posted a festive video on his Instagram account, wishing his followers a Happy Thanksgiving while preparing to report for duty on set. In the video, he greeted co-star Jess Bush with a warm hug before joining producing director Chris Fisher to discuss the ongoing production.

Despite the holiday, the American cast and crew are working through Thanksgiving, as Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated in October. Filming occurs at CBS Stages Mississauga in Toronto, Ontario, a location that has become synonymous with the series’ production.

In his recent posts, Mount appears more energized compared to last week, when he expressed exhaustion after a weekend trip home. He plans to return to his residence in Nashville, Tennessee, for a belated Thanksgiving celebration before rejoining the set on Monday.

At the recent ST: CHI – Trek to Chicago convention, co-star Christina Chong reflected on the production process, expressing a bittersweet sentiment about nearing the end of filming. “We are just almost finishing. We’re about to start shooting the last episode of Strange New Worlds. How crazy is that?” she said.

While the cast prepares to conclude filming, fans can look forward to upcoming seasons. Season 4 is expected to premiere in 2026, with Season 5 likely scheduled for 2027. In total, there are still 16 new episodes set to grace screens, promising to further expand the captivating universe of Star Trek.

As production winds down, the excitement continues to build among fans eager for the next chapter in this iconic series.
