The Anita McCoy Dance Studio will hold its annual Christmas recital, titled “Christmas Love,” on December 10, 2023, at 17:15 local time. This festive event will take place at the Lou Del Pizzo Auditorium located in Cañon City High School, situated at 1313 College Ave.. Attendees can expect a vibrant showcase featuring students performing various dance styles to beloved Christmas classics.
The recital will highlight a range of performances including tap dancing, gymnastics, jazz, lyrical, tumbling, and contemporary dance. Admission for the event is priced at $12 for adults, $6 for seniors and children aged 6 to 12, while children under five can attend free of charge.
New Creative Classes for December
In addition to the dance recital, The Artists’ Gallery is offering new classes this December. Notably, Frank Ventura will guide participants in creating an 8 x 10 landscape watercolor painting featuring a cabin surrounded by aspen trees. These classes are scheduled for December 10, 12, 16, 20, 22, 27, and 30, 2023, running from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. Each session costs $60, which includes all necessary supplies, and class size is limited to five students to ensure personalized attention.
Additionally, Rose Starling will hold a class on painting a moonlit barn on Saturdays. Participants will create a 9 x 12 oil painting on canvas during sessions offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.. The cost for this class is $65, with all materials provided. Class size is limited to six students.
