Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer Announce Divorce After Seven Years

Amy Schumer and her husband, Chris Fischer, have decided to end their marriage after seven years. The popular actress and comedian shared the news on her Instagram account on November 10, 2023, emphasizing their mutual respect and commitment to co-parenting their son, Gene.

In her candid post, Schumer stated, “Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.” The announcement comes amid growing speculation regarding the couple’s relationship, which began in 2017 and culminated in their marriage in 2018.

The couple welcomed their son Gene in 2019. Fischer, a respected chef, has a notable culinary background, having worked alongside well-known figures such as Mario Batali, Alice Waters, Keith McNally, and Fergus Henderson.

Sources have indicated that the split is amicable, with no ill feelings between the two. According to a report by People magazine, a source close to the couple said, “There’s nothing ugly. It’s a cohesive split. They’ve just been finalizing a few things.”

Speculation about their relationship troubles had surfaced in recent months. On November 13, 2023, a source informed People that the couple was “privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have,” stressing their commitment to one another.

Schumer appeared to address the rumors on social media. Earlier in November, she shared a post on her Instagram Stories praising Hulu’s divorce-lawyer series “All’s Fair,” humorously noting, “And Chris and I are still married.” This lighthearted approach hinted at her awareness of the public’s interest in her personal life.

In December, Schumer provided an update on her health journey, further clarifying the nature of her marriage. She stated, “Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” adding, “Fingers crossed we make it through. He’s the best.”

As both Schumer and Fischer navigate this new chapter, their focus remains on their son and maintaining a supportive family dynamic. The announcement of their divorce marks a significant moment for both individuals, who have publicly shared their experiences as a couple and as parents.
