A.J. Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, shared his optimism about returning to the team for the 2026 season during a recent appearance on Micah Parsons’ podcast. This marks Brown’s first public comments since December 8, 2025, following a narrow loss to the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. While Parsons did not directly address trade rumors surrounding Brown, the player conveyed a positive outlook regarding his future with the Eagles.
When asked about his goals for the offseason, Brown emphasized the importance of accountability and consistent improvement. “As an offense, we just come back and really watch the tape and rediscover ourselves,” he stated. “It’s all about being detailed and being disciplined.” His comments suggest a commitment to the team and a determination to contribute to its success.
In discussing potential changes to the coaching staff, Brown expressed excitement, hinting at a fresh start. Although he did not specifically mention the recent appointment of Sean Mannion as the new offensive coordinator, he acknowledged that change can bring positive outcomes. “Sometimes change is not a bad thing,” he remarked, recognizing the contributions of former coach Kevin Patullo.
Reflecting on his transition from the Titans to the Eagles during the 2022 draft weekend, Brown recalled the warm welcome he received in Philadelphia. “When I got to Philly, man, Philly welcomed me with open arms. That’s home, man, and I love them,” he shared. His sentiments reinforce his connection to the team and its fanbase.
Last season was a challenging one for Brown, who experienced a slow start and expressed frustration with the offensive strategy at times. After nine games, he ranked 37th among wide receivers with just 408 yards. Nevertheless, he finished the season with 1,003 yards, marking his fourth consecutive season surpassing the 1,000-yard milestone. In the wild-card loss to the 49ers, however, Brown struggled, catching only three passes for 25 yards and recording three drops. “You have good days, you have bad days,” he reflected on that performance.
Brown is eager to move forward and improve. “I know me personally, I’m excited to get back in the lab and better myself each and every day,” he said. His determination to refine his skills showcases a readiness to take on the challenges ahead.
The podcast also featured Parsons discussing his own career. He revealed that he narrowly avoided a trade to the Eagles, citing the condition that Jalen Carter must also be part of the deal. “It was very close to being the Eagles,” Parsons noted, explaining his reluctance to join unless he could play alongside Carter.
As the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season, Brown’s positive outlook and commitment to the team may be crucial for their success. His leadership and talent will be essential as the team navigates changes and seeks to improve following last season’s playoff exit.
