Controversial rapper 6ix9ine is requesting a lighter sentence in light of multiple probation violations linked to his 2019 racketeering case. His attorney, Lance Lazzaro, has petitioned the court for house arrest instead of serving time in prison, arguing that such a sentence would be less severe and more appropriate for his client.
During a court appearance at a New York federal courthouse, Judge Paul Engelmayer was presented with the request for six months of home detention. This request was made ahead of the scheduled announcement of 6ix9ine’s fate on November 4. According to an exclusive report from AllHipHop’s Grouchy Greg Watkins, Lazzaro emphasized that prison would be “much more severe, difficult, and even dangerous” for 6ix9ine due to his past cooperation with law enforcement and his public persona.
Lazzaro further elaborated on the challenges 6ix9ine faces while incarcerated. He noted that due to his classification, the rapper serves his time isolated from other inmates, which limits his social interaction and outdoor access. Such conditions, according to Lazzaro, could exacerbate the difficulties of imprisonment for his client.
In addressing the specific probation violations, Lazzaro sought to mitigate the circumstances surrounding 6ix9ine’s infractions. He pointed out that the amounts of substances involved—namely, just 0.0122 grams of cocaine and five pills of MDMA—were minimal. Regarding a recent incident at a Florida mall, Lazzaro argued that the complainant was the initial aggressor and asserted that no injuries occurred during the altercation. 6ix9ine himself acknowledged his involvement in the incident, admitting, “Me and another individual hit a person, and I was wrong.”
As the court deliberates on the request for house arrest, it is essential to note that the recommended sentence for each of the violations ranges from three to nine months in prison. The outcome of this case remains uncertain as both the defense and prosecution await the judge’s decision.
In a separate development, 6ix9ine has continued his provocative behavior on social media, targeting fellow rapper 21 Savage. He has made comments questioning 21 Savage’s citizenship and jokingly stated he would marry another rapper, Latto, to secure a green card. Though 21 Savage has yet to respond directly, his fans are left speculating about his reactions to 6ix9ine’s remarks. In a recent tweet, 21 Savage remarked, “Seem like everyone in a corny race right now,” leaving fans to ponder his implications.
With the court’s decision pending and 6ix9ine’s public persona remaining as controversial as ever, the coming weeks will be crucial in determining the next chapter in the rapper’s tumultuous career.
