A new initiative called Young Adults Rise aims to support young adults in Shenandoah County by offering essential tools and resources to enhance their life skills, foster relationships, and build a supportive community. The program will host weekly meetings designed to engage participants in meaningful discussions and activities, addressing a significant gap in support for this age group.
The program will commence on September 3, 2023, in Mount Jackson at Coffee to Grow, located at 5946 Main St. Meetings will be held from 17:30 to 19:00. Following that, a second location in Strasburg will kick off on September 24, 2023, at Box Office Brewery, situated at 177 E. King St. Both locations will host gatherings three times a month, complemented by a social event once a month.
The curriculum for Young Adults Rise is based on research conducted by experts who have focused on the developmental needs of young adults. This evidence-based approach aims to empower participants to identify their meaning and purpose while cultivating valuable life skills.
Attendance at the program is free, making it accessible to all young adults in the area. Participants can expect a range of activities including peer discussions and guest speakers, all aimed at fostering personal growth and community engagement. The initiative is organized by the local community and is designed to address the social and emotional challenges often faced by young adults today.
