YMCA Turkey Camp Set for November: Registration Now Open

The YMCA of Southeast Texas has announced the dates for its annual Turkey Camp, scheduled to take place from November 24 to 26, 2025, as well as on November 28. This camp will be hosted at the YMCA facility in Port Arthur and at the North Orange Baptist Church. The program is specifically designed for school-aged children, providing a safe and engaging environment during the Thanksgiving break.

Kevin Pearson, CEO of the YMCA of Southeast Texas, emphasized the camp’s importance for working parents, stating, “Turkey Camp provides those parents with peace of mind that their kids are being well cared for and enriched.” The camp aims to keep children active and happy while allowing parents to focus on work or holiday preparations.

Children attending Turkey Camp will have the chance to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, develop creative skills, and make new friends. The planned activities align with the YMCA’s mission to enrich young lives by fostering connection, learning, and community engagement. Pearson highlighted the camp’s unique ability to bring together children from diverse backgrounds, noting, “They should meet other people and learn from that experience – that’s part of being human.”

The Turkey Camp is open to both YMCA members and the general public. Registration is currently underway, but spots are limited. Interested individuals can obtain more information or register by calling the YMCA of Southeast Texas at (409) 962-6644.

As families prepare for the upcoming holiday, the YMCA Turkey Camp offers a valuable opportunity for children to engage in enriching experiences while providing parents with a safe and supportive environment.
