Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU) has reported strong enrollment growth for the fall semester, indicating a positive trend for the institution. The university anticipates increases across several categories, including new freshmen, undergraduate, graduate, transfer, international, and high school student dual enrollment. Although final numbers are still in preparation, initial data suggests another robust semester for SLU.
This surge in enrollment follows a historic spring semester, which recorded the highest overall enrollment in the university’s 100-year history. William S. Wainwright, President of Southeastern Louisiana University, expressed enthusiasm about this continued growth. “We are incredibly excited about our third-straight year of enrollment growth in nearly all student categories and realizing our largest student body in over a decade,” he stated.
Wainwright emphasized that the university’s dedication to excellence in education and a supportive environment is appealing to a growing number of students. “This shows that Southeastern’s commitment to excellence in the classroom with a caring student focus is resonating with more and more students. This is a great time to be a Lion,” he added.
As the university prepares to finalize its enrollment figures, more information will be made available after the 14th class day in September 2023. This continued growth not only reflects SLU’s reputation but also highlights the increasing interest in higher education opportunities in the region.
The upcoming semester promises to be a significant period for Southeastern Louisiana University as it builds on the momentum from previous terms. The administration remains optimistic about attracting an even larger and more diverse student body in the future.
