Sem Yeto High School in Fairfield has been awarded the esteemed Model Continuation High School Award by the California Continuation Education Association (CCEA). This accolade recognizes outstanding excellence, innovation, and student support in continuation and alternative education across the state. The announcement was made by California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond on March 15, 2024, highlighting the achievements of 59 schools statewide.
Principal John McMorris expressed pride in the recognition, attributing the honor to the collective efforts of the school’s staff. “This recognition belongs to our entire staff, and reflects the exceptional work happening daily at our site,” McMorris stated in a press release. He emphasized that the dedication and creativity of every teacher, counselor, and support staff member are what make Sem Yeto a unique educational environment.
