Nobles County Libraries Announce Summer Schedule and Events

The Nobles County Library system has confirmed its operational hours and upcoming summer events for the community. The main library, located at 1106 Third Ave. in Worthington, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, remaining closed on weekends. Additionally, the Children’s Library at 206 11th St. operates from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with limited hours on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Both libraries are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Adrian Branch Library at 214 Maine Ave. has adjusted hours, being open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and until 5 p.m. on Fridays. The branch is not open on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Donation Policy and Features

As of now, the Nobles County Libraries in both Worthington and Adrian are not accepting donations of items. Officials urge patrons not to leave items outside the buildings or in book drops until further notice.

Visitors to the Nobles County Library in Worthington can enjoy reading on the patio, surrounded by flowers, providing a pleasant environment for both shaded and sunny reading experiences. The current featured display highlights themes of summer and picnics, inviting community members to engage with seasonal reading.

Upcoming Programs and New Arrivals

The library is hosting an Adult Summer Reading Program from June 15 to August 15. Participants are encouraged to complete their reading booklets, with additional programming available on the library’s website. Notably, a Quilling Birthday Card class is scheduled for August 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and August 12 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.. Registration is required for these classes.

On August 18, the Friends of the Library Book Club will hold its meeting, providing a platform for book discussions and community engagement.

Younger patrons can look forward to the Summer Reading Program Carnival on August 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the JBS Fieldhouse. Note that there will be no Story Time sessions during July. Art Camp sessions for children are scheduled for August 7, 14, and 21—registration is necessary for participation.

New arrivals at the library include adult fiction titles such as A Chase to the Death by Russ Swanson and Murder on Sex Island by Jo Firestone. For younger readers, the library will soon feature I am an Artist by Marta Altés.
