The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is set to conduct a Hunter Safety Education Class in late September. Scheduled for September 23, 25, and 27, 2023, the classes will take place at the Bittinger Fire Hall, located at 176 Brenneman Rd. in Bittinger.
The sessions on September 23 and September 25 will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., while the final session on September 27 is planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. To successfully complete the program, participants must attend all three sessions.
This course has a capacity limit of 30 students. Notably, any student under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the classes. The curriculum will include both classroom instruction and practical field exercises, culminating in a live-firing practical.
At the conclusion of the course, attendees will be required to pass a written test. Furthermore, participants will be assessed based on their attitude, maturity, and skills, with a recommendation from the instructor needed to complete the course successfully.
