Upcoming Author Events
The Hoyt Library is hosting an impressive lineup of virtual author discussions. On **October 22, 2025**, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai will discuss her memoir, **“Finding My Way,”** at **7 p.m.** Following this, historical novelist Philippa Gregory will delve into her latest work, **“Boleyn Traitor,”** on **October 29** at **2 p.m.**
On **November 5**, journalist Joseph Lee will explore Indigenous identity in his book **“Nothing More of This Land”** at **2 p.m.** This conversation highlights the tension between heritage and commercialism in iconic tourist destinations. Later in the month, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Charles Duhigg will lead a discussion on **November 18** about effective communication in his book **“Supercomminicators.”**
Additionally, on **November 13**, author Amanda Peters will discuss her bestselling novel **“The Berry Pickers”** and her short fiction collection, **“Waiting for the Long Night Moon: Stories.”**
Community Engagement Activities
The Wyoming Valley Stamp Club is organizing a Halloween-themed event on **October 25**, from **1 to 3 p.m.** This family-friendly gathering will feature trick-or-treating for children, a spooky stamp display, and a presentation on horror-themed stamps. New members are encouraged to join, and registration can be completed via phone at the library.
