Leslie Powell Gallery to Launch New Exhibitions on Nov. 15

The Leslie Powell Gallery is set to unveil two new art exhibitions and a special showcase featuring student artwork on November 15, 2023. The public reception, running from 18:00 to 20:00, will highlight the creative talents of Christen Humphries and Thomas Stotts, alongside a collection from students of Eisenhower High School.

The exhibitions will include “So the Days Pass: Works on Paper” by Humphries, who is recognized for her innovative approach to contemporary art. This collection promises to engage viewers with its exploration of time and perception through various paper mediums.

In addition, “Discovery” by Stotts will showcase his unique perspective on the theme of exploration. Known for his vibrant colors and abstract forms, Stotts aims to challenge the audience’s understanding of space and form.

The inclusion of artwork from Eisenhower High School students adds a community-focused element to the event. This special showcase will provide a platform for young artists to present their work, fostering creativity and appreciation for the arts among local youth.

Visitors can expect an enriching evening filled with artistic expression, community engagement, and the opportunity to meet the artists. The Leslie Powell Gallery aims to strengthen ties between local schools and the art community, making art accessible to all.

The reception is free to the public, allowing everyone the chance to experience the fresh and diverse perspectives of these artists. The gallery, located in Lawton, Oklahoma, continues to be a vital space for cultural exchange and artistic dialogue.

With these new exhibitions, the Leslie Powell Gallery reaffirms its commitment to showcasing both established and emerging talents, making it a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts.
