Disney and LucasFilm have partnered with GoNoodle, a platform dedicated to promoting physical activity for children, to introduce a new series of videos featuring beloved “Star Wars” characters. This collaboration aims to blend movement with mindfulness, helping children refocus and learn in a fun environment. The initiative kicks off with a video starring Grogu from “The Mandalorian,” who guides kids in practicing breathing techniques to cultivate calmness and concentration.
KC Estenson, CEO of GoNoodle, emphasized the alignment of Grogu’s characteristics with the platform’s goals. “Grogu embodies the qualities we want every child to build: curiosity, balance, and kindness,” he stated. “Through the new Star Wars channel, mindfulness content, and curriculum-paired activity, we’re equipping educators with trusted tools that help students focus, settle, and find their balance in ways that feel joyful and familiar.”
The initiative not only promotes physical activity but also supports emotional regulation skills, essential for children aged 6 to 11. The official release notes that these videos have been developed with a strong emphasis on appropriateness and inspiration for young audiences.
Jeff Benjenk, Vice President of Brand Marketing at The Walt Disney Company, echoed the importance of storytelling in fostering creativity. “At Disney and Lucasfilm, we believe great stories spark curiosity and creativity,” he remarked. “Bringing STAR WARS into the GoNoodle platform allows kids to experience the characters and stories they love in a way that’s active, joyful, and meaningful.”
The first Grogu video launched today and marks the beginning of a series set to be released throughout the year. These videos will be accessible on GoNoodle’s website as well as on the Disney and GoNoodle YouTube channels.
This collaboration is more than just entertainment; it reflects a growing trend of integrating educational content into popular culture. By leveraging the appeal of “Star Wars,” Disney and GoNoodle aim to provide families and educators with effective tools that inspire movement, mindfulness, and imagination in daily life.
As the series unfolds, it promises to engage children in meaningful ways, encouraging them to embrace not only physical activity but also vital life skills that contribute to their overall development.
