The Finnish Center at Saima Park is set to enhance cultural connections through language by offering Finnish language classes starting on September 22. These classes will cater to three different proficiency levels, making it accessible for everyone from complete beginners to advanced students.
Class Schedule and Structure
Under the guidance of Finnish native Saija Laurla, participants can expect engaging and lively lessons that not only cover pronunciation and the fundamentals of the Finnish language but also delve into captivating stories about Finnish culture. The classes will run for ten consecutive weeks, taking place every Monday.
Students will be divided into three groups based on their proficiency levels. Advanced students will meet from 15:00 to 16:30, followed by advanced beginners from 17:00 to 18:30, and beginners from 18:45 to 20:15. In a nod to Finnish tradition, the center will host “kahvi aika” (coffee time) between sessions, allowing participants to socialize and unwind from 16:30 to 17:00 and again from 18:30 to 18:45.
