BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – Bay Village Schools have reached a significant milestone, achieving a Performance Index score of 107.9 in the latest State Report Card, an increase of 1.8 points from last year’s 106.1. This achievement marks the highest Performance Index in the district’s history and places Bay Village as the 16th-ranked public school district in Ohio, positioning it among the top five districts in Northeast Ohio.
Superintendent Scot Prebles expressed pride in the district’s accomplishments, stating, “While the state ranking of 16th is something to be proud of, in almost every single metric, we outperformed ourselves. That’s what’s important.” He emphasized the collective effort of students and staff, noting, “I’m overly excited about the performance of our students and staff. Without all of their hard work, this wouldn’t be possible.”
Significant Improvements Across All Schools
Every school in the Bay Village district demonstrated noteworthy improvements, underscoring the comprehensive nature of its academic success. Bay High School led the charge with an impressive increase of 2.962 points in its Performance Index, rising from 17th place to become the 6th-ranked high school in Ohio. Similarly, Bay Middle School achieved a notable increase of 1.796 points, earning recognition as the 11th-ranked middle school in the state. The district’s elementary school, Westerly, contributed positively with a solid 0.461-point improvement in its Performance Index, while Normandy earned an overall rating of 4 Stars, indicating its performance surpasses state standards.
