Transcendent Capital Cuts Stake in SPDR Bloomberg T-Bill ETF by 55.7%

Transcendent Capital Group LLC has significantly reduced its investment in the SPDR Bloomberg 1-3 Month T-Bill ETF (NYSEARCA:BIL), scaling back its holdings by 55.7% in the second quarter of 2023. According to the latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the firm now possesses 5,185 shares of the ETF after divesting 6,519 shares during this period. As of the close of the most recent reporting period, Transcendent’s stake in the fund was valued at approximately $476,000.

The adjustment in Transcendent’s portfolio comes amid a broader trend among institutional investors regarding the SPDR Bloomberg 1-3 Month T-Bill ETF. During the first quarter of 2023, several other significant stakeholders made notable changes to their positions in the fund.

OVERSEA CHINESE BANKING Corp Ltd dramatically increased its investment in the ETF by an astonishing 5,842.9%, acquiring a total of 1,868,218 shares valued at $171,372,000 after purchasing an additional 1,836,782 shares. This aggressive move reflects a growing confidence in the ETF, which primarily invests in short-term U.S. Treasury bills.

In addition, Kingstone Capital Partners Texas LLC entered the market with a new stake worth approximately $109,043,000 during the second quarter. Similarly, AGF Management Ltd. expanded its position by 80.2% in the first quarter, now holding 2,453,640 shares valued at $225,072,000 after acquiring over 1,092,381 shares.

Partners Capital Investment Group LLP also increased its holdings by 30.1%, now owning 2,812,458 shares worth $257,987,000. Meanwhile, Modern Wealth Management LLC saw a staggering increase of 491.6%, bringing its total to 697,173 shares valued at $63,952,000 after adding 579,318 shares.

The SPDR Bloomberg 1-3 Month T-Bill ETF opened at $91.57 on Friday. Over the past twelve months, the ETF has experienced a low of $91.29 and a high of $91.80. Its fifty-day moving average stands at $91.60, while its two-hundred-day moving average is $91.59.

Launched on May 25, 2007, the SPDR Bloomberg 1-3 Month T-Bill ETF is managed by State Street and predominantly invests in investment-grade fixed income. The fund tracks a market-weighted index that includes all publicly issued zero-coupon U.S. Treasury bills with maturities ranging from one to three months.
