Swiss National Bank Reduces Stake in Energizer Holdings, Inc.

The Swiss National Bank has decreased its holdings in Energizer Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:ENR) by 1.0% during the first quarter of 2023. According to the latest Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the bank now owns 125,725 shares of Energizer after selling 1,300 shares in the reporting period. This stake is valued at approximately $3,762,000, representing 0.17% of the company.

Other institutional investors have also adjusted their positions in Energizer recently. Principal Financial Group Inc. increased its stake by 1.5%, now owning 907,826 shares valued at $27,162,000 after acquiring an additional 13,453 shares. Meanwhile, Nuveen Asset Management LLC raised its holdings by 17.7%, bringing its total to 303,549 shares worth $10,591,000 after purchasing 45,638 shares in the previous quarter. Universal Beteiligungs und Servicegesellschaft mbH entered a new position in the company valued at approximately $4,701,000.

In terms of significant increases, GAMMA Investing LLC raised its stake by an astonishing 2,354.4%, now owning 18,850 shares valued at $564,000 after acquiring 18,082 shares. Notably, around 93.74% of Energizer’s stock is currently held by hedge funds and other institutional investors.

Energizer’s stock opened at $28.48 on Thursday, with a market capitalization of $1.94 billion. The company reported a price-to-earnings ratio of 8.21 and a beta of 0.63. Over the past year, the stock has experienced a low of $19.70 and a high of $39.51. The company’s financial ratios indicate a quick ratio of 0.84, a current ratio of 1.78, and a debt-to-equity ratio of 17.57.

Energizer Holdings, Inc. released its quarterly earnings data on August 4, 2023. The company reported earnings of $1.13 per share, significantly exceeding analysts’ expectations of $0.61 by $0.52. Revenue for the quarter reached $725.30 million, surpassing the consensus estimate of $692.67 million. This marks a 3.4% increase in revenue compared to the same quarter last year, when the company reported $0.79 earnings per share. For the upcoming fourth quarter of 2025, Energizer has set guidance for earnings per share between $1.050 and $1.150, with full-year guidance ranging from $3.550 to $3.650.

Dividend Announcement and Analyst Ratings

In addition to its earnings report, Energizer announced a quarterly dividend of $0.30 per share, scheduled for payment on September 10, 2023. Shareholders on record as of August 21, 2023 will receive this dividend, representing an annualized amount of $1.20 and a yield of 4.2%. The company’s dividend payout ratio stands at 34.58%.

Analysts have recently revised their price targets for Energizer. Truist Financial raised its target from $30.00 to $35.00, maintaining a “buy” rating. Similarly, JPMorgan Chase & Co. increased its target from $27.00 to $28.00, rating the stock as “neutral.” Market ratings show one analyst has given a “buy” recommendation, while six maintain a “hold” rating. Overall, analysts have set an average price target of $31.43 for Energizer Holdings, Inc.

The company, which manufactures and distributes household batteries, specialty batteries, and lighting products under various brands, is navigating a competitive market landscape as it continues to adjust its investor relations and financial strategies.
