Students Innovate at Global Robotics & AI Bootcamp in Riyadh

A groundbreaking Robotics & AI Bootcamp took place on December 30 and 31, 2025, at Al Yasmin International School in Riyadh, bringing together students from Grades 1 to 12. Organized by Meritus AI in collaboration with Target Global Academy, the initiative stands out as one of the most inclusive and diverse technology programs in the region. Following the bootcamp, participants engaged in a Hackathon Challenge on January 1, 2026, showcasing their newly acquired skills.

Under the guidance of Dr. Abdul Matheen, the bootcamp aimed to foster a future-ready generation through education in STEM, AI, and robotics. The program adhered to local educational practices while ensuring high academic standards and learning outcomes for all students. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes innovation and digital skills as critical components of the country’s development.

The three-day program introduced participants to essential topics such as hardware-software integration, coding with MIT App Inventor, machine learning, and computer vision. Students engaged in hands-on activities, constructing robots and programming them to exhibit intelligent behaviors. Special modules covering image recognition, speech processing, and gesture control connected theoretical concepts with practical AI applications.

The highlight of the bootcamp, the Hackathon Challenge, allowed student teams to design and present innovative solutions leveraging the robotics and AI skills they had learned. This competitive environment fostered critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and innovation, giving students insights into how technology can address real-world issues.

Organizers conveyed a shared vision of making world-class AI and STEM education accessible to every child, regardless of their background. By offering this program as a free educational initiative, both Meritus AI and Target Global Academy demonstrated their commitment to democratizing access to advanced technological education.

Participants, including students, parents, and educators, expressed strong appreciation for the curriculum’s international standards, engaging delivery, and real-world relevance. Many students reported increased confidence and enthusiasm for pursuing careers in technology and innovation, marking a positive shift in their outlook.

With significant local impact and growing global attention, this successful bootcamp lays the groundwork for future academic programs, innovation labs, and advanced AI pathways. Both organizations plan to expand their efforts across Saudi Arabia, nurturing the next generation of global innovators and technology leaders.

As the New Year begins, the initiative reflects a commitment to building a skilled workforce that can thrive in an increasingly digital world. For more information on this transformative program, visit Meritus.ai.
