Upcoming Community Day in Mahanoy City

The annual Mahanoy City Community Day is scheduled for September 13 and promises a lively atmosphere filled with music, food, vendors, and entertainment. Sponsored by the Mahanoy Area Chamber of Commerce, this year’s event will feature passenger train rides provided by the Reading & Northern Railroad.

According to organizers, the train will depart from 100 E. Vine St. at 11:00, 13:00, and 15:00 for 70-minute round trips, including a unique journey through the historic Mahanoy Tunnel. Tickets for the train rides are priced at $22 for adults and $9 for children aged 3 to 12. They can be purchased at The Mahanoy City Food Store located at 28 S. 15th Annual Senior Expo Planned

On October 21, Diakon Living and Learning After 50 will host the 15th Annual Senior Expo at Fairlane Village Mall, located on Route 61. The expo will run from 10:00 to 14:00 and aims to connect local businesses with seniors seeking information on a variety of topics including retirement benefits, housing options, and health screenings.

Fresh Off the Farm Dinner Event

The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the annual Farm to Table dinner event, titled “Fresh Off the Farm,” scheduled for September 23 from 17:30 to 20:00 at 1 Spud Lane, Sacramento. This reception-style event will showcase the best of Schuylkill County’s agriculture, allowing attendees to sample local food and beverages while mingling with fellow guests.
