Resideo Sells Demand Response Business to EnergyHub

Resideo Technologies, Inc. has announced the sale of its Grid Services demand response business to EnergyHub, a notable provider of grid-edge flexibility solutions. The transaction, revealed on December 2, 2025, allows Resideo to concentrate more on its core business strategy, focusing on residential controls and sensing products tailored for professional contractors and integrators.

The Grid Services division primarily served utility clients and specialized in demand response solutions. Following the sale, Resideo will still manage energy loads in homes through its thermostats and other products integrated with third-party demand response platforms. This continuity is crucial as it maintains Resideo’s commitment to energy management in residential spaces.

EnergyHub’s platform is already trusted by over 120 utilities which collectively serve more than 55 million customers. The acquisition of Resideo’s Grid Services enhances EnergyHub’s capacity to assist utilities in managing connected devices, including thermostats, electric vehicles, and batteries, through a unified Edge Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS). This system is crucial for supporting reliable and cost-effective service for utility customers.

Dave Oberholzer, General Manager at Resideo Grid Services, expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating, “I am extremely proud of the innovation, customer partnerships, and strong reputation our Grid Services team has built. By joining forces with EnergyHub, we will be able to offer our utility clients a broader ecosystem of DERs and leverage our winning platforms and talented team to accelerate the transition to a carbon-free grid.”

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. However, Resideo indicated that this divestiture will not materially affect its financial outlook for 2025, which was previously provided on November 5, 2025. The company plans to use the proceeds from this sale for general corporate purposes, aligning with its stated capital allocation priorities.
