Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings officially opened its new location in Longmont, Colorado, on November 29, 2024. The restaurant, celebrated for its variety of dim sum and dumplings, is situated at 125 Ken Pratt Blvd. in the Harvest Junction shopping center. This opening marks the chain’s expansion from its origins on The Hill in Boulder, with plans for additional locations in both Colorado and New Jersey.
The Longmont location previously housed a TGI Friday’s, which closed its doors in January 2024. Nana’s grand opening is scheduled for December 10, 2024, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 16:00 followed by a traditional lion dance at 18:30. Notably, all proceeds from sales on the grand opening day will be donated to the Longmont Humane Society, emphasizing the restaurant’s commitment to community involvement.
Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings is part of a growing chain founded by Chinese immigrants Jack Liu and Kelly Liu. Jack Liu has a background in restaurant operations, having worked in the industry since his teenage years. Kelly Liu brings authentic recipes passed down from her grandmother, creating a unique dining experience that blends tradition with modern convenience.
The menu offers a wide range of dim sum dishes, including soup dumplings and “char siu bao,” alongside various types of dumplings and buns. Customers can also enjoy a selection of soups, desserts, and entrees like pan-seared sea bass and honey chicken feet. Unlike many dim sum establishments that use cart service, Nana’s allows patrons to order directly from a menu and watch dishes being prepared through open kitchen windows.

The store is now operating at 502 Main St. and plans to hold a grand opening on December 6, 2024. Store manager Joe Barmada confirmed that the iconic shop will be open from 05:00 to 20:00 daily, offering a full menu of beloved doughnuts and pastries alongside new items.
Expanding Culinary Landscape
As Longmont welcomes these new dining options, the culinary landscape continues to diversify. The December opening of Slice House, a California-based pizzeria chain, is also on the horizon. Located at 1385 Sculptor Drive in Loveland, Slice House specializes in various pizza styles and plans to open a second location in Longmont in early 2025.
This surge in restaurant openings reflects a vibrant and evolving food scene in Longmont, attracting both locals and visitors.
