H-E-B has acquired 19.8 acres of land in Sherman, Texas, marking another strategic expansion for the popular grocery chain. The site is located near the northwest quadrant of the intersection of FM 1417 and U.S. 75, about 70 miles north of Dallas. This purchase was confirmed by Mabrie Jackson, a spokesperson for H-E-B.
Jackson indicated that there is currently no timeline for constructing a store on the newly acquired land. “However, we look forward to serving more Texans in the coming years,” she stated. The announcement comes shortly after H-E-B’s recent acquisition of 22.8 acres in Flower Mound, where plans are underway to build a store.
In Flower Mound, H-E-B secured land on the northeast corner of U.S. 377 and Cross Timbers Road, with construction expected to commence this fall. Jackson also noted that no specific date has been set for the Flower Mound location.
The expansion into Sherman highlights H-E-B’s ongoing commitment to grow its footprint in North Texas. Founded in Kerrville, Texas, and now headquartered in San Antonio, H-E-B celebrated its 120th anniversary this year. The chain operates over 455 stores across Texas and Mexico, catering to a diverse customer base with a wide array of grocery and household items.
H-E-B’s proactive approach reflects the company’s strategy to meet increasing demand in the region. With the recent growth in population and economic development in North Texas, the grocery chain’s expansion is well-timed to serve both existing and new customers.
As H-E-B continues to navigate its expansion plans, the company remains focused on providing quality service and products. The acquisitions in Sherman and Flower Mound are part of a broader vision to enhance its accessibility and reach within the Texas market.
In summary, H-E-B’s latest land purchase in Sherman not only showcases its growth ambitions but also reinforces its longstanding presence in the Texas grocery sector. As the company prepares for future developments, the community can anticipate more shopping options in the years ahead.
