Baton Rouge Welcomes Seasonal Delights and Halloween Festivities

Baton Rouge is bustling with new culinary offerings and seasonal celebrations as various local establishments introduce exciting menu items and special events this fall.

Sonny’s BBQ, located at 12475 Florida Blvd., has rolled out its autumn menu, featuring a range of dishes such as cheese curds, a pulled pork sandwich, and maple barbecue pork burnt ends. Other highlights include sweet potato fries and pecan pie egg rolls, designed to satisfy diners seeking comfort food during the cooler months.

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, CC’s Coffee House is offering limited-time birthday cake beverages along with a special birthday cake cookie. The coffee chain is also engaging its customers through social media, hosting giveaways that include merchandise, gift cards, and free coffee for a year.

Upcoming Events in Baton Rouge

Local events are adding to the vibrant atmosphere, with the annual Farm Fête scheduled for 6 p.m. on September 25 at the Red Stick Farmers Market, 501 Main St.. This fundraiser supports BREADA‘s outreach programs and aims to enhance the local food system, ensuring access to fresh, healthy food for all residents.

On October 31, The Plantry Cafe, located at 5454 Bluebonnet Blvd., will host a “Music of the Night” event featuring a candlelight performance by the Original Magnolia Quartet. Guests can enjoy a three-course dinner alongside an optional wine pairing while experiencing the classic melodies in an intimate setting. Ticket prices vary, and those interested can inquire at (225) 505-7411.

As the month progresses, the Halloween-themed pop-up, Black Lagoon, will take place from October 1 to October 31 at Pelican to Mars, 2678 Government St.. This year, founders Erin Hayes and Kelsey Ramage celebrate five years of their bar takeover concept, with participation from 38 cities. The cocktail menu includes inventive options such as Griselda’s Revenge and Death’s Door (non-alcoholic), each crafted with unique ingredients to enhance the festive experience.

Lastly, the Houmas House, located at 40136 La. 942, Darrow, will host its annual Thanksgiving buffet on November 27. Guests can indulge in a variety of dishes, including roasted pork loin, prime rib, and a dessert display. Tickets for the buffet are priced at $95 for adults and $55 for children, available through the gift shop at (225) 473-9380.

With these engaging offerings, Baton Rouge is set to celebrate the season with exciting food, music, and community spirit.
